Many of our projects at New Life Thailand involved earth building (also known as adobe or mud building). With this sustainable construction method, we went on to build a meditation hall, recreational hall, staff and volunteer housing, and even a home for our ducks. In this video, expert Jon Jandai from the Pun Pun Centre for Self-Reliance in Chiang Mai explains the fundamentals of earth building during a workshop at our Winter Solstice Festival in 2013.
